Bangkok…check!, Time to visit some of the most gorgeous islands in Thailand. For this leg of the trip we decided on Phuket and Phi Phi island.
Let me start off by saying that both of these islands are fabulous! Our initial plan was to only go to Phi Phi, but there are no direct flights so having the choice of travelling through Krabi or Phuket, we chose the later and decided to spend some time there. Phuket is not only famous for it’s night life and full moon parties but also for it’s temples. I was there only for 2 nights but managed to visit some of the temples, had a good relaxing look around the beach and went for dinner at a couple of the local restaurants… Oh and managed to fit in the obligatory drinks at some of the great bars in the area.
After staying a couple days in Phuket, It was time to take a 2 hour boat to paradise! The moment you arrive in Phi Phi you instantly know that you’re going to fall in love with everything this tiny island has to offer. Looking around, everything seems surreal. The water and the mountains that form the island are just something you will never see anywhere else.
There are couple of hotels in the center of island but I ended up staying at little bit further up in a resort because everything was fully booked by the time I got around to the last minute booking. You should bear that in mind if you’re planning a trip here. The place is so tiny and with not very much accommodation the island fills up pretty quickly.
I stayed in Phi Phi for 4 days and I took those days to visit all the little surrounding islands, got a lot of massages and enjoyed a little bit of the night life. I highly recommend taking an entire day to visit the islands. You can rent a boat with a guide to take you around for a pretty reasonable price. My favorite little island was Maya Bay and the snorkeling around it was next level.
Massages are offered all a long the beach, and having tried probably more than my fair share of vendors, can say that none will let you down. Welcome to Thailand where everywhere you go massages are abundant and high quality.
The night life in Phi Phi is so much fun! There is remarkably a lot of options given the size of the place. My favorite bar was The Only Bar Phi Phi. The view, the vibe and the drinks all combined to make this place my favorite on the island. If you need any info, you can check out their Facebook page.
